In particular, in the following cases: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chronic neuropathic pain after spinal surgery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peripheral nerve pain in the limbs (peripheral neuropathy or polyneuropathy)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic lower back pain resistant to conventional treatments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS, Algodystrophy)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-herpetic pain (persistent pain after shingles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic pain after surgery (post-surgical pain)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phantom limb pain (pain after amputation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>If you have tried pharmacological treatments, injections, or physiotherapy without achieving sufficient improvement, neurostimulation might be a viable option for you.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>How is the implant performed?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The electrode is positioned using a minimally invasive procedure, using a special needle and under radiological guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After insertion, the electrode is secured to keep it stable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>trial phase<\/strong> is always conducted before the permanent implant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1705\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4.png 480w, https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-4-235x300.png 235w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Trial Phase<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During a 1-2 week trial period, the electrode is connected to an external battery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The patient uses a small remote control to adjust the intensity of the stimulation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During the trial, several check-ups are scheduled at our center to adjust the stimulation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the pain is reduced by at least 50%, we proceed with the permanent implantation of a battery under the skin, similar to a pacemaker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the treatment doesn&#8217;t work, the electrode is simply removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Permanent Implant<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the trial is successful, a small battery is implanted under the skin (similar to a pacemaker).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The battery can be positioned in the gluteal region or near the abdomen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The procedure takes about 1-2 hours and is performed as day surgery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"420\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-5.png 420w, https:\/\/tidolore.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-5-197x300.png 197w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are there Risks or Side Effects?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The procedure is minimally invasive.
